Frequently Asked Questions
Why would I want to enhance my saliva?
Saliva has a lot of jobs. It breaks down your food, protects your teeth and gums, and helps you taste and speak. But one of its most important jobs is lubrication. It's what helps food slide down your throat, and it plays the same role in intimacy, helping eliminate friction so that lips can glide on lips, and skin can glide on skin.
The problem is that saliva is volatile. Salivary glands are dynamic, constantly changing the quantity and quality of your saliva in response to what you are ingesting. It can be thin and watery, thick and sticky, or slick when it's rich in mucins, the proteins that make saliva slippery. It's volatile because your salivary glands tune your saliva for food, not for intimacy. So when you want it to be slick and abundant to maximize lubrication, it's often too thin, too sticky, or just not there.
But because your glands respond to what you put in your mouth, you can use food to tune it the other way. That's what Twinkle Tongue does. It's a combination of food-based ingredients that gets your glands making more saliva and slicker saliva, and keeps that going for up to about an hour. The idea is to give you slick and abundant saliva to provide you the lubrication that you need, plus time to enjoy it without reaching for more every few minutes.
How does it work?
Your salivary glands are incredibly reactive. They're constantly changing how much saliva you make and what it's like, depending on what you put in your mouth.
Lick a lemon and your mouth waters, but it's thin and watery. Have a couple of IPAs and it goes thick. But the system works in reverse too. Certain foods and drinks make your saliva flow more and turn it slicker.
Twinkle Tongue takes those ingredients and combines them into one sachet that gets your salivary glands making the best saliva they can: slick, silky and abundant. Your mouth makes the lube. It just makes a lot more of it, and better.
How is Twinkle Tongue different from other products?
Twinkle Tongue is built around three goals: more saliva, better saliva, and an effect that lasts long enough to matter. In intimacy, saliva's main job is lubrication, letting skin slide on skin without friction getting in the way. But saliva comes in a lot of different compositions, and it isn't always a good lubricant.
Plenty of things make your mouth water. Believe us, we tried them all while developing Twinkle Tongue. Mints, gum and lemon juice all get saliva flowing, but it comes out thin and watery, and watery saliva doesn't lubricate well. The effect also fades within a few minutes, so you're constantly reaching for more. In an intimate moment, stopping to reapply kills the mood and the flow.
Most of the sprays we tried didn't noticeably increase saliva at all. Many of them add a flavor, a tingle or a numbing effect. That's a novelty, but it doesn't make your saliva a better lubricant.
Lube works well as a lubricant, but it's synthetic. It doesn't come from you. Saliva is warm, natural and primal in a way nothing from a bottle can be.
Twinkle Tongue gets your own salivary glands making more saliva and slicker saliva, and keeps that going for up to about an hour, so you can stay in the moment.
Does it really work?
Yes. To be clear, Twinkle Tongue isn't doing anything strange or new. It's harnessing something your salivary glands have done since the beginning of time: reacting to whatever you put in your mouth. We just isolated the inputs that give you the best saliva, the most of it, for the longest time.
Your glands respond all day long. Everything you eat or drink changes the flow and composition of your saliva, second to second, to balance your mouth and help you swallow. You've felt it: lick a lemon and your mouth waters, drink too much beer and your saliva goes thick, wake up in the morning and your mouth is dry.
We spent years researching which ingredients get the response we were after. How do you get more saliva? How do you get the slick kind that lubricates? How do you make that reaction from the glands last as long as possible? Twinkle Tongue is the result.
Does it work for everyone? Honestly, we don't know. We've tested it on a lot of people, a lot of people have bought it, and a lot of them love it. So it clearly works for a lot of people. That's why your first box is guaranteed. Try it, and if it doesn't work for you, let us know and we'll refund your money.
In the end, saliva needs to be lubricative and plentiful to make a lot of intimate experiences as magical as they are supposed to be. Having an experience without friction getting in the way, and without stopping to deal with a dry mouth, lets the experience be what it should be: magical. We'd love for you to experience it for yourself to see what we mean. Give it a try, and if you hate it, let us know and we'll give you a refund.
What's it made of?
Nature-based ingredients: fruit concentrates, herbs and food acids, with two food-grade preservatives to keep it fresh. It's vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and cruelty-free.
The full ingredient list: water, cherry puree concentrate, concord grape puree concentrate, orange juice concentrate, lemon juice concentrate, lime juice concentrate, spilanthes (acmella oleracea whole flowering plant), eleuthero (acanthopanax root extract), maca (lepidium meyenii root), xylitol, cornstarch, citric acid, tartaric acid, palm MCT oil, potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate.
Does it contain sugar?
There's no added sugar. Each sachet has 5 grams of natural sugar from the fruit concentrates and 7 grams of carbs in total, and it's also sweetened with xylitol. If you're watching your blood sugar, count it like a small piece of fruit, and if you have diabetes, check with your doctor.
Where is it made?
In the USA.
How do you use it?
Tear open a sachet and squeeze the gel into your mouth. Swish it and roll it around underneath your tongue for 5-10 seconds. Then swallow, and give it about 30 seconds. The effect isn't instant, so don't judge it straight away. Once it kicks in, your saliva gets thicker, slicker and more abundant. The gel itself is swallowed. What you use is your own saliva.
Do I have to use the whole sachet?
No. Each sachet is meant for one sitting, and how you use it is up to you. Take it all in one go, take a little at a time, or split one with a partner. Try a few ways and see what works best for you. Once a sachet is open, finish it in that sitting rather than saving it for later.
Is it safe to use with other products or medications?
Twinkle Tongue is made from food ingredients. If you take any medication or have a medical condition, check with your doctor before using it, and read the ingredient list if you have any food allergies.
Does it help with dry mouth?
Twinkle Tongue isn't a treatment for dry mouth or any medical condition. It's made to enhance your saliva for intimacy. But it works by prompting your own salivary glands, so when your mouth feels dry, it gets them producing again, and plenty of people use it that way.
It can only work with glands that are able to respond, though. If your dry mouth is severe or ongoing, for example after medical treatment, talk to your doctor.
If you'd like to see what it does for you, your first box is guaranteed. If that first box doesn't work for you, let us know and we'll refund your money.
How long does the effect last?
Up to about an hour. It varies from person to person.
Does it numb or tingle?
No, and it isn't designed to. Twinkle Tongue is about making your saliva as good as it can be, not about novelty sensations. What you'll notice is your salivary glands switching on. You can feel them working and producing. Some people describe that as a light tingle, and it's different for everyone.
Can I use it more than once a day?
Yes. Each sachet has 22 mcg of vitamin D, so keep an eye on your total if you take other vitamin D.
Does Twinkle Tongue have any side effects?
Twinkle Tongue is made with food ingredients, so beyond the boost in saliva, you shouldn't notice anything else. Do check the ingredient list for anything you're allergic to. If anything ever feels off, stop using it and let us know at hello@twinkletongue.com.
Can I use it if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
Twinkle Tongue is made mainly from food ingredients, so allergies are the main thing to watch for. Check the ingredient list, and check with your doctor before using it.
What does it taste like?
A bold, tart fruit flavor, cherry and grape with a citrus bite. It's more tart than sweet.
Does it come in other flavors?
Not yet. There's one flavor for now, but that may change in the future.
How should I store Twinkle Tongue?
Somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sunlight. A pocket or a bag is fine for a night out. Just don't leave it somewhere hot for long, like a car in summer.
How long does it keep?
Every box has a best-by date printed on it, and we only ship boxes with at least 3 months left. If yours ever arrives with less, let us know and we'll replace it.
What's your return policy?
Your first box is guaranteed. If it doesn't live up to the experience, just reach out and we'll refund it, no questions asked. Since Twinkle Tongue is something you eat, there's nothing to send back, so keep the box on us.
After that, if anything ever comes up, still let us know. We always want to take care of our customers and make sure you're happy.
Do you offer samples?
We don't send samples or single sachets. But your first box is guaranteed, so feel free to try it. If it's not for you, let us know and we'll refund your money, no questions asked. There's nothing to send back.

Shipping prices for all other countries are shown at checkout. Expedited shipping isn't available to Spain, Italy, Portugal or Belgium.
Order processing
We do our best to ship orders placed before 2 PM Central Time the same business day, and orders placed after 2 PM the next business day.
Where do you ship?
Across the US, plus the United Kingdom, the European Union, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and many more countries worldwide. If your country is offered at checkout, we can ship to you.
A few places we can't ship to, because their rules don't allow products like ours by mail: Mexico, Turkey, the Canary Islands and Majorca.
Who handles your international shipping?
We've partnered with Passport Global, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, affiliates and/or nominated agents ("Passport"), to handle the sale and delivery of our international orders. Passport works with shipping partners around the world who handle your local delivery. By placing an order on our website, you agree to the terms of sale for these markets. Canadian customers, please also see these additional terms.
Do I have to pay duties and taxes?
For most international orders, no. We ship Delivered Duty Paid (DDP), which means duties and taxes are collected at checkout, so there's nothing to pay when your package arrives and it's far less likely to get held at customs. The amount varies by country.
For customers in the United Kingdom, the European Union and Australia, prices already include VAT (or GST) and duties. What you see is what you pay, and we guarantee no extra charges on delivery. In Canada and other DDP countries, duties and taxes are added at checkout, so there's still nothing to pay on delivery.
DDP isn't available everywhere. For these countries we ship Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU), and your local customs authority may charge duties and taxes before the package is delivered.
How are taxes paid?
For DDP orders, taxes (VAT/GST) are collected at checkout. In most countries they're paid to the tax authority as part of customs clearance. Some countries require the seller to pay tax on low-value goods outside of customs, and in those countries Passport acts as the Seller of Record for your order. By placing an order, you agree to the terms of service for the European Union, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, Singapore and Switzerland.
Is there a limit on how much I can order?
Canada, Australia and New Zealand limit how much of a food supplement you can import for personal use, to about a 90-day supply per order. Orders over that limit get held and sent back by customs. If you can't complete an order to one of those countries and your address is right, try a smaller quantity.
How can I track my order?
Once your order ships, we'll email you a tracking link. You can follow it from there on your Twinkle Tongue tracking page.
When will my order arrive?
US orders arrive in 3 to 7 business days with standard shipping. International orders usually arrive within 8 to 14 business days of shipping, and your tracking page shows the estimated delivery date once it's on its way.
My package seems to have stopped moving.
Don't worry, it's still on its way. A pause in tracking usually means it's clearing customs, and customs or weather can occasionally add a few days. Your tracking page updates as soon as it moves again. For questions about an international shipment, use the "Need Help" button on your tracking page.
What happens if I enter the wrong shipping address?
Please double-check your address before placing your order. If a package can't be delivered because the address was incorrect or incomplete, we'll still do our best to help. Usually we can reship once it comes back to us, though extra shipping fees may apply. First-time mistakes may qualify for a one-time courtesy reship, so just reach out.
